Beith Agricultural Show

Summary of April 2025
Held on Saturday, April 26th, the 2025 Beith Agricultural Show once again proved why it remains a beloved fixture in North Ayrshire’s rural events calendar. Taking place at Hill of Beith Farm, Gateside Road, Beith, KA15 2LE, the show drew in enthusiastic crowds of locals, farmers, and families celebrating all things agricultural and community.
The day began with pony judging at 9am, followed by cattle, sheep, poultry, and heavy horse classes at 10am, all culminating in the Grand Parade. A skilled team of judges, including Mr Andrew Brown (Dairy), Mrs Jean Parker (Commercial/Primestock), and Mr Graeme Easton (Highland Cattle), oversaw a competitive and high-quality field of entrants.
Notable results included:
- Champion of Champions: Ross Montgomery (Commercial Section)
- Pedigree Champion: Tom & Ally Nelson (Shorthorn)
- Highland Section Winner: Scooby McMillan
- Texel Champion: Duncan Whyte
- Interbreed Sheep & Reserve Champion of Champions: David & Murray McMillan (Suffolk)
- Dairy Champion: J & GP McConnell
How did the dog show go?
The Dog Show, beginning at 12pm, was a crowd favourite. Gwen Wright with Blake won Best in Show, while Olivia Gallagher with Rosa took Reserve. Highlights included:
- Best Pedigree Bitch: Arian Forrester with Sanna
- Best Crossbreed Dog: Louisa Batty with Buddy (who also won Best Veteran)
- Best Puppy: Paul Forrester with Effie
- Waggiest Tail: Joanna with Baxter
The show was expertly judged by the lovely Stacey Thomson
Away from the pets and livestock
Meanwhile, Vintage Tractor awards went to George Kerr’s steam engine, and the Tug of War saw Beith Boys and Avondale Girls emerge victorious. Local clubs kept everyone entertained with games, stalls, and cake sales throughout the day.
